DESPAIGNE DEALT TO THE ANGELS
The Los Angeles Angels acquired pitcher Odrisamer Despaigne from the Miami Marlins for cash.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
The Angels have been beset by injuries to their pitching staff, so the hope here is that Despaigne can provide a little more depth. He can both start and relieve and has a fair amount of MLB experience.
What does it give the Miami Marlins
The Marlins optioned the 31-year-old Cuban right-hander earlier this season, so Despaigne had been toiling at Triple-A New Orleans for much of 2018. So, rebuilding Miami decided to sell him to the Angels.
Fantasy impact
Despaigne should resurface in MLB at some point with the Angeles, but he is far from a solid fantasy option. Fantasy leaguers should be able to do better than Despaigne.
