The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired catcher Chris Stewart from the Atlanta Braves for cash.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
For Arizona, this deal is simply about landing more catching insurance for the final month of the 2018 MLB season. Stewart will be sent to Triple-A ball for the time being.
What does it give the Atlanta Braves
The Braves had designated Stewart for assignment recently, so they did well here to at least recuperate some cash back in the deal. Atlanta added catcher Rene Rivera recently.
Fantasy impact
This deal has no fantasy implications whatsoever, since Stewart is basically a depth catcher at this point.
