FRASOR FINDS WAY BACK TO JAYS
The Toronto Blue Jays acquired relief pitcher Jason Frasor from the Chicago White Sox for pitchers Myles Jaye and Daniel Webb.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
Over the past several years Frasor has established himself as a capable and effective setup man who can close on occasion if needed. He has also played most of his career with the Blue Jays, so he knows the team and organization well (and has actually made more appearances for the Jays than any other pitcher). Expect him to be one of the top setup options for closer Sergio Santos (whom Frasor set up with the White Sox last season).
What does it give the Chicago White Sox
The ChiSox clearly didn't want to pay Frasor's option for 2012 (at almost $4 million), so they instead add two solid, moderately promising righty arms in Jaye and Webb, who won't command much salary (neither is on the 40-man roster). Jaye had a better 2011 than Webb but both have some strikeout abillity and some starting experience. Expect both to continue developing in the minors in 2012.
