PITCHER ANDERSON ADDED TO THE MARLINS

The Miami Marlins acquired pitcher Nick Anderson from the Minnesota Twins for infielder Brian Schales.

What does it give the Miami Marlins
In Anderson, the Marlins land an older minor leaguer (28) who has yet to debut in MLB. That may happen in 2019, however, as he has a good chance of landing a spot in Miami's bullpen with a strong spring training. He has also started in the minors, which adds value.

What does it give the Minnesota Twins
The Twins decided not to keep Anderson on their 40-man roster, so they acquired infielder Schales instead. The 22-year-old Schales, who is primarily a third baseman, could eventually be a solid addition to a Minnesota organization that is a little lacking in depth at the hot corner.

Fantasy impact
Neither Anderson nor Schales should be on the fantasy radar for the time being. Both need to find their way within their new organizations and put up good numbers early on in 2019 to become fantasy factors at some point.
