SAN DIEGO SENDS WICK TO THE CUBBIES
The Chicago Cubs acquired pitcher Rowan Wick from the San Diego Padres for infielder Jason Vosler.
What does it give the Chicago Cubs
For Chicago, Wick is a decent acquisition since he is still only 26 years old and already has big-league experience pitching out of the bullpen. He should compete for a regular spot in manager Joe Maddon's bullpen in 2019.
What does it give the San Diego Padres
Vosler is an intriguing addition for San Diego, since he is coming off a 2018 campaign in which he belted 23 home runs in the minors (AA and AAA). The 25-year-old is a nice acquisition in exchange for a bullpen arm.
Fantasy impact
Wick is off the fantasy radar for now, but he could pitch his way into a prominent role with the Cubs. Therefore, he should be monitored early on in 2019. As for Vosler, there is a chance he may make his MLB debut at some point in '19. Following the trade, he should now be on the keeper radar in most league formats.
