LA ANGELS LAND LA STELLA

The Los Angeles Angels acquired infielder Tommy La Stella from the Chicago Cubs for a player to be named later (Conor Lillis-White - 12/13/2018).

What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
For the Angels, La Stella could see a little more playing time than what was the case in Chicago last season. La Stella is a left-handed contact hitter who is really good coming off the bench to deliver a pinch hit. He should also see some action at second and third base with LA in 2019.

What does it give the Chicago Cubs
The writing was probably on the wall for La Stella when the Cubs acquired infielder Ronald Torreyes from the Yankees recently, so Chicago sent La Stella to the Angels for a marginal prospect or cash. Chicago may miss La Stella's pinch-hitting prowess next season.

Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as La Stella is mostly a bench player who will turn 30 years old early next year. This trade does solidify Torreyes' upcoming role in Chicago, however (which will mostly be coming off the bench).
