SCUTARO TO TORONTO
The Toronto Blue Jays acquired infielder Marco Scutaro from the Oakland Athletics for pitchers Graham Godfrey and Kristian Bell.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
The Jays will use Scutaro as their main utility infielder, though he will probably spell shortstop John McDonald often next season. Scutaro runs hot and cold, so it will be up to manager John Gibbons to get the most out of him.
What does it give the Oakland Athletics
The A's received great mileage out of Scutaro during his tenure in Oakland, but he was never a long-term solution at any position. The A's are still committed to Bobby Crosby at shortstop and Mark Ellis at second base, so they accepted two pitching prospects for their top infield backup.
