TEXAS TRADES PITCHER SADZECK TO SEATTLE

The Seattle Mariners acquired pitcher Connor Sadzeck from the Texas Rangers for pitcher Grant Anderson.

What does it give the Seattle Mariners
In Sadzeck, the Mariners add a hard thrower with control issues. At this point, Seattle may have settled for any bullpen arm since the team is currently decimated with injuries to their relievers. Sadzeck can miss plenty of bats, so he could get a solid opportunity in Seattle.

What does it give the Texas Rangers
The Rangers recently designated Sadzeck for assignment because of a poor spring training performance. So, they were able to work out a deal with the Mariners in exchange for Anderson (who turns 22 in June). Anderson was drafted in 2018, so he is several years away from MLB.

Fantasy impact
Neither reliever involved in this deal has much fantasy value at this time. However, take a wait-and-see approach with Sadzeck because of Seattle's depleted bullpen. Anderson is a few years away from being on the fantasy radar.
