MAYBIN MOVES TO THE BRONX

The New York Yankees acquired outfielder Cameron Maybin from the Cleveland Indians for cash.

What does it give the New York Yankees
The Yankees had no choice but to go outside the organization for a depth outfielder, since injuries have been piling up like raked leaves in autumn. Maybin could see some time at all three outfield positions while the likes of Aaron Hicks, Aaron Judge, Giancarlo Stanton and Clint Frazier remain on the IL.

What does it give the Cleveland Guardians
For the Indians, this deal was about getting back some cash for a player they deemed expendable from an organizational standpoint. Maybin had signed a minor-league contract with Cleveland in late March (after being released by San Francisco), but he failed to make the team out of spring training.

Fantasy impact
There is nothing to see here from a fantasy standpoint, as Maybin is literally an emergency acquisition due to New York's dire injury situation. He will likely be sent back to the minor leagues as soon as one of the walking wounded return to action. Pass on Maybin.
