BRAVES BRING IN BLEVINS
The Atlanta Braves acquired pitcher Jerry Blevins from the Oakland Athletics for cash.
What does it give the Atlanta Braves
The 35-year-old Blevins is a classic, situational lefty. He will likely see the majority of his appearances against left-handed batters, often one hitter per appearance. Such is the life of a left-handed reliever in MLB.
What does it give the Oakland Athletics
The A's had no issue trading Blevins away at this time, since the veteran southpaw did not make the team out of spring training this year. So, they moved him on to Atlanta and were able to secure some cash back in the deal.
Fantasy impact
There is nothing to see here, as Blevins will not see enough action late in ball games to register a lot of holds or saves. Pass.
