MURTON MOVES TO COLORADO

The Colorado Rockies acquired outfielder Matt Murton from the Colorado Rockies for infielder Corey Wimberly.

What does it give the Colorado Rockies
Murton has a shot at winning a platoon role in left field with the Rockies this season, or at least a bench job. He has yet to prove he can handle everyday at-bats but is a solid hitter.

What does it give the Oakland Athletics
The A's didn't need Murton anymore, after acquiring former Rockie Matt Holliday in the off-season. Therefore, they moved him for Wimberley, a possible utility infielder for the A's.
