BRAD MILLER MOVES TO THE PHILLIES
The Philadelphia Phillies acquired infielder Brad Miller from the New York Yankees for cash.
What does it give the Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies have lost several outfielders to injury recently, so Scott Kingery (who was being used in a super-sub role) has been forced to play regularly lately. So, bringing in Miller (who can play all over the field) makes sense at this time. He will provide depth off the bench.
What does it give the New York Yankees
The Yankees decided to sell Miller for cash because they are a little healthier in the infield these days (with the return of starting shortstop Didi Gregorius). Miller did not make a single appearance with the Bronx Bombers since arriving as a minor-league free agent in April.
Fantasy impact
Miller has some power and can be streaky but he is not expected to receive regular playing time with the Phillies. He can be safely avoided in most fantasy leagues.
