PUELLO PICKED UP BY MIAMI
The Miami Marlins acquired outfielder Cesar Puello from the Los Angeles Angels for cash.
What does it give the Miami Marlins
The Marlins have one of the worst outfield situations in MLB, so Puello could see a fair amount of playing time in Miami. The 28-year-old Dominican has underachieved so far in his pro career but he has a lot of talent and bears monitoring.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
The Angels recently designated Puello for assignment to make room for the return of left-fielder Justin Upton. Therefore, the club did well to get back cash in exchange for a spare outfielder that they no longer needed. This deal works for all.
Fantasy impact
Puello might be worth a speculative pickup in very deep (or NL-only) leagues. Otherwise, monitor his progress with Miami and keep him on the fantasy radar.
