The Cincinnati Reds acquired infielder Aaron Miles and a player to be named later from the Oakland Athletics for infielder Adam Rosales and outfielder Willy Taveras.
What does it give the Cincinnati Reds
Miles is a veteran utility infielder who should help the Reds coming off the bench. He's pretty good insurance in case anything happens to Brandon Phillips, Orlando Cabrera or Scott Rolen.
What does it give the Oakland Athletics
Rosales is a typical journeyman, but the type of player that often thrives when in Oakland. As for Taveras, he was immediately designated for assignment and isn't in Oakland's plans.
