TEXAS TRADES FOR SHANE CARLE

The Texas Rangers acquired pitcher Shane Carle from the Atlanta Braves for cash.

What does it give the Texas Rangers
In Carle, the Rangers land a 27-year-old right-handed reliever who had some success with Atlanta last season. Texas hopes Carle can rediscover past form with this change of scenery. For now, he will report to Triple-A Nashville but look for Carle to resurface in the big leagues at some point in 2019.

What does it give the Atlanta Braves
The Braves decided to designate Carle for assignment recently, largely because of his ugly MLB numbers this season: 6 GP, 9.64 ERA. Atlanta clearly felt they needed to move on from Carle at this time, instead of staying patient in the hope that he turn things around in 2019. They took the cash.

Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here at this time, as Carle still needs to iron out the kinks and get back to 2018 form. That may take some time, and it is also not a certainty to ever occur.
