D'BACKS ADD RELIEVER ZIEGLER
The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired pitcher Brad Ziegler from the Oakland Athletics for first baseman Brandon Allen and pitcher Jordan Norberto.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks are clearly buyers right now, so they add the serviceable Ziegler to the mix. He's pitched in a variety of roles for Oakland, but he's expected to be used as a setup man with the D'backs.
What does it give the Oakland Athletics
Allen could be a big acquisition for the A's, who are still looking for more help at first base. Allen can also play in the outfield and DH, so this is the perfect opportunity for him to finally develop into the slugger many see in him. Norberto is a lefty arm who could help replace Ziegler in the A's bullpen.
