Shafer is a decent right-hander who pitched fairly well out of the Toronto bullpen in 2019, so look for the Floridian to get a good look in spring training as a middle reliever for Cincinnati.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Jays recently designated Shafer for assignment, so they were at least able to land some cash in return for his services. Toronto clearly felt that Shafer was not in their plans.
Fantasy impact
Take a wait-and-see approach with Shafer in case he moves his way up the Reds' bullpen depth chart in 2020. For now, he is not draft-worthy.
