HALOS BRING IN BUNDY FROM BALTIMORE
The Los Angeles Angels acquired pitcher Dylan Bundy from the Baltimore Orioles for pitchers Kyle Bradish, Isaac Mattson, Zach Peek and Kyle Brnovich.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
In Bundy, the Angels land a quality right-hander who has battled both injury and inconsistency during his stint in MLB. When healthy and on top of his game, he can be a true ace of a pitching staff. His arrival should make LA's pitching staff more formidable and provide quality innings from the starting rotation. This is a solid acquisition by Angels GM Billy Eppler, but more is needed in order to become a contender.
What does it give the Baltimore Orioles
When a team goes into complete rebuilding mode, sometimes tough decisions need to be made. Trading Bundy sets the Orioles back for now, as he was basically their only reliable starting pitcher, but at least Baltimore was able to land four pitching prospects in return. Bradish is the top prospect of the group, while Mattson may be the closest to the bigs. Neither Peek nor Brnovich has yet to throw a pitch professionally.
Fantasy impact
Bundy should see his fantasy stock rise significantly after this trade. He will now become a greater source of wins and he should also enjoy pitching away from Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Bundy now becomes a keeper candidate in very deep leagues, while also on the draft radar in the middle rounds in most other formats. Bradish is the name to monitor in terms of the four pitching prospects acquired by Baltimore. He is a candidate to be drafted in deep keeper leagues next year.
