RANGERS ADD ADOLIS GARCIA
The Texas Rangers acquired outfielder Adolis Garcia from the St. Louis Cardinals for cash.
What does it give the Texas Rangers
In Garcia, the Rangers add a right-handed power hitter with base-stealing speed and a cannon for an arm in the outfield. The Cuban outfielder has yet to put it all together but has the tools for success in MLB. He may get an opportunity to see regular at-bats in Texas if he performs well in spring training.
What does it give the St. Louis Cardinals
The Cardinals are deep in outfield talent, which is perhaps why Garcia was somewhat lost in the shuffle. St. Louis recently designated him for assignment, so they were at least able to recuperate some cash in exchange for his services before moving on. The Cards could not provide Garcia with enough playing time.
