CASEY SADLER SENT TO THE CUBS
The Chicago Cubs acquired pitcher Casey Sadler from the Los Angeles Dodgers for infielder Clayton Daniel.
What does it give the Chicago Cubs
The Cubs will probably give Sadler a solid opportunity to win a job out of spring training this year. He is not a great strikeout artist but can pitch decently in the big leagues, so look for Sadler to pitch in middle or long relief for Chicago this season.
What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers decided to designate Sadler for assignment recently, so it is no surprise that they traded him. In Daniel, Los Angeles gets a diminutive infielder who hit over .300 at two levels last season. He is a bit of a dart throw for the Dodgers.
Fantasy impact
Sadler lacks fantasy appeal so he can continue to be ignored in most league formats. Daniel does not own any fantasy value at present time.
