MATT HALL HEADS TO BEANTOWN
The Boston Red Sox acquired pitcher Matt Hall from the Detroit Tigers for catcher Jhon Nunez.
What does it give the Boston Red Sox
In Hall, the Red Sox add a left-hander who can pitch out of the bullpen and strike hitters out. The 26-year-old has just 21 MLB appearances under his belt, but Boston obviously feels like there is some untapped potential here.
What does it give the Detroit Tigers
The Tigers recently designated Hall for assignment, so they did well to add a future asset in Nunez here. Nunez is a 25-year-old, switch-hitting catcher who has yet to reach Triple-A ball. He will provide depth for Detroit.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as neither Hall nor Nunez are going to play major roles with their new MLB clubs in 2020.
