The Miami Marlins acquired pitcher Jesus Tinoco from the Colorado Rockies for pitcher Chad Smith.
What does it give the Miami Marlins
A mammoth right-hander, Tinoco should provide some bullpen relief for a Marlins squad that was recently devastated with several cases of COVID-19. Tinoco is 25 years old and has some untapped upside.
What does it give the Colorado Rockies
The Rockies decided to trade Tinoco (who made 24 appearances out of the bullpen last season) to acquire Smith. The latter is also a 25-year-old right-handed reliever but with far less experience (he reached Double-A in '19).
Fantasy impact
Neither Tinoco nor Smith are worthy fantasy options at this point. Both could eventually become high-leverage relievers for their respective squads (but it will not be in 2020).
