ANGELS ADD RELIEVER IGLESIAS
The Los Angeles Angels acquired pitcher Raisel Iglesias and cash from the Cincinnati Reds for pitcher Noe Ramirez and a player to be named later.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
In Iglesias, the Angels land a premier late-inning reliever in MLB. In four seasons pitching out of the bullpen on a full-time basis, he has registered a total of 100 saves. He should definitely help an LA club still searching for the winning recipe.
What does it give the Cincinnati Reds
This trade seems like a classic salary dump by the Reds, since Iglesias is a top reliever in the big leagues (and Ramirez is mainly a journeyman). They might receive a quality prospect down the road, but right now this deal looks bad from a Cincinnati perspective.
Fantasy impact
Iglesias needs to adjust to the American League, but he should continue to rack up impressive saves numbers in Los Angeles. Iglesias should be among the first relievers drafted in most league formats this year. As for Ramirez, he holds no fantasy value at this time.
