TEXAS TRADES LANCE LYNN TO THE PALE HOSE
The Chicago White Sox acquired pitcher Lance Lynn from the Texas Rangers for pitchers Dane Dunning and Avery Weems.
What does it give the Chicago White Sox
In Lynn, the White Sox land a quality veteran right-hander who should help stabilize the starting rotation in Chicago. He has one season left on his contract, so there is little risk and decent reward here for the ChiSox.
What does it give the Texas Rangers
Texas dealt away its ace starter, but at least there were able to get back two young hurlers. Dunning is a solid right-hander with some upside (and with MLB experience). He should make the Rangers' starting rotation in 2021. Weems is a long-range starter prospect.
Fantasy impact
All three pitchers dealt here should see their fantasy stocks improve. Lynn will have something to prove as a pending free agent in '21, so he should continue to put up solid numbers. Dunning could be a breakthrough candidate as part of the Texas rotation, while Weems has some keeper appeal.
