RED SOX LAND IF JOSH WILSON
The Boston Red Sox acquired infielder Josh Wilson from the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named later.
What does it give the Boston Red Sox
With shortstop Julio Lugo currently sidelined, Wilson provides the Red Sox with a little middle-infield insurance down the stretch. He'll remain in Triple A for the time being.
What does it give the Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates didn't view Josh Wilson as anything more than a backup infielder, something of which they had plenty of. Therefore, they decided to accept Boston's offer of a future asset.
