DODGERS NAB DOTEL FROM BUCS

The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired pitcher Octavio Dotel from the Pittsburgh Pirates for pitcher James McDonald and outfielder Andrew Lambo.

What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers get a quality late-inning arm in Dotel, though he won't get many save chances in Los Angeles behind closer Jonathan Broxton. Instead, he'll likely serve an eighth-inning role, which he may share with lefty Hong-Chih Kuo.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Pirates
The Pirates land a solid young arm in McDonald, who has so far failed to live up to his talent level in the bigs. He could be used as either a starter or reliever by Pittsburgh going forward. Lambo is an intriguing outfield prospect with youth and upside.
