The Washington Nationals acquired catcher Miguel Perez from the Pittsburgh Pirates for cash.

What does it give the Washington Nationals
After trading Perez to Pittsburgh last June, the Nationals decided to bring him back. The 27-year-old is essentially a minor-league catcher, and a real long shot to make it back to the bigs for an extended stay.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Pirates
This is a very minor deal for the Pirates, who obviously weren't impressed by Perez in his brief audition. Whatever the Bucs get for sending Perez back to Washington will likely have little impact on the club.
