BUCS ADD NAVARRO

The Pittsburgh Pirates acquired infielder Yamaico Navarro from the Kansas City Royals for pitcher Brooks Pounders and infielder Diego Goris.

What does it give the Kansas City Royals
The Royals had acquired Navarro from Boston, but they decided not to keep him around for the 2012 campaign. So, they land a decent relief prospect in Pounders and a young SS in Goris. That's a solid return for a player that wasn't projected to be an everyday player in Kansas City.

What does it give the Pittsburgh Pirates
Navarro has some pop in his bat, as well as a little position versatility. Therefore, he is a good bet to make the team out of spring training, 2012. He may ultimately wind up as the team's starting 3B if Pedro Alvarez continues to struggle. This is a solid pickup for Pittsburgh.
