MARLINS ADD LeBLANC FOR BAKER
The Miami Marlins acquired pitcher Wade LeBlanc from the San Diego Padres for catcher John Baker.
What does it give the Miami Marlins
LeBlanc has shown flashes of quality starter ability while with the Padres, but he never put it together. He might get that opportunity in Miami as the fifth starter in 2012. He'll at the very least competing for the job in spring training.
What does it give the San Diego Padres
Baker is a decent contact-hitting backup catcher, so look for him to play that role behind Nick Hundley in San Diego in 2012. He came back from Tommy John surgery last season but might be more healthy going forward. If so, he may push Hundley for at-bats.
