PHILS LAND HALLADAY IN BLOCKBUSTER

The Philadelphia Phillies acquired pitcher Roy Halladay and cash from the Toronto Blue Jays for catcher Travis D'Arnaud, infielder Kyle Drabek and outfielder Michael Taylor.

What does it give the Philadelphia Phillies
It was complicated, but the Phillies were finally able to nab Blue Jays ace Halladay in this four-team blockbuster. Halladay gives the Phils a potentially dominant righty-lefty combination at the top of the rotation (along with Cole Hamels). The Phils also did well to add prospects Aumont, Ramirez and Gillies from Seattle in surrendering Lee, and they also added a little cash to help pay Halladay's contract. This is a great trade for Philadelphia.

What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
The Mariners acquired a great lefty in Lee, who will team with Felix Hernandez to form a potent righty-lefty duo of their own. It cost Seattle three prospects, including their top two pitching prospects in Aumont and Ramirez, but Lee is an ace well worth the price tag.

What does it give the
The Jays are now clearly in full-blown rebuilding mode. Drabek should help the process along, and the team is also very high on Wallace. D'Arnaud could be the wild card in this trade when all is said and done, especially since catchers are hard to get a good read on at a young age. If the Jays had to move their best player, at least they received a good return.

What does it give the Seattle Mariners
The A's were the last team to be included in this blockbuster deal, landing outfielder Taylor from Philadelphia and moving Wallace to Toronto. Clearly, the A's liked Taylor more than Wallace as a prospect, which is why they were invited to this trading party.
