HOYT HEADED TO THE HALOS
The Los Angeles Angels acquired pitcher James Hoyt from the Miami Marlins for cash.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
In Hoyt, the Angels land a solid arm with loads of experience (especially in the minor leagues). A bit of a late-blooming reliever, he should compete for a spot in LA's bullpen this season.
What does it give the Miami Marlins
The Marlins chose to keep Rule 5 pitchers Paul Campbell and Zach Pop on the 26-man roster, which made Foyt expendable. So, they shipped the latter to the Angels and got back a little bit of cash.
Fantasy impact
Foyt is not expected to pitch in high-leverage situations, so he can be safely ignored in most fantasy leagues at this time.
