BLUE JAYS BRING IN BARNES
The Toronto Blue Jays acquired pitcher Jacob Barnes from the New York Mets for pitcher Troy Miller.
What does it give the Toronto Blue Jays
In Barnes, the Blue Jays land a 31-year-old right-hander who can strike batters out at the highest level. Unfortunately, he is also woefully inconsistent. Still, Toronto's bullpen needs help so Barnes may get a look with the big-league club soon.
What does it give the New York Mets
The 24-year-old Miller is not a top prospect by any means, but he does have starting pedigree in the minor leagues. He has also pitched out of the bullpen. Barnes had been designated for assignment by the Mets, so they at least got back a future asset.
Fantasy impact
There is no impact here, as neither Barnes nor Miller should be on the fantasy radar for the foreseeable future.
