DIAMONDBACKS DEAL LOCASTRO TO NEW YORK
The New York Yankees acquired outfielder/infielder Tim Locastro from the Arizona Diamondbacks for pitcher Keegan Curtis.
What does it give the New York Yankees
In Locastro, the Yankees get a versatile depth player with speed and the ability to come off the bench (or serve a platoon role). With Aaron Hicks injured, Locastro may become part of a platoon in center field with veteran Brett Gardner for the Bronx Bombers.
What does it give the Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks are struggling badly this season, so it is no surprise to see them selling off some of their assets. Curtis is more of a long shot prospect at this point, but at least Arizona did well to get something back for Locastro, a marginal MLB talent.
Fantasy impact
There is nothing to see here, as Locastro will not see enough at-bats in the Bronx to make a fantasy impact. Furthermore, Curtis is well off the radar for the time being.
