McKINNEY MOVES TO LOS ANGELES
The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired outfielder/first baseman Billy McKinney from the New York Mets for outfielder Carlos Rincon and cash considerations.
What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers like versatile players, so McKinney (who can play all over the outfield, plus first base) should fit right in. He adds depth and a left-handed bat off the bench (if he sticks).
What does it give the New York Mets
The Mets are now healthy, or at least much healthier than they were a few weeks ago, so they had to move players out. Rincon is a marginal outfield prospect who had been playing Double-A ball.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as McKinney is not likely to receive enough at-bats with the Dodgers this season. Meanwhile, Rincon still has work to do in order to reach MLB.
