The Toronto Blue Jays acquired pitcher Joakim Soria from the Arizona Diamondbacks for two players to be named later (J.J. D'Orazio and Yaifer Perdomo - 09/01/21).

The Blue Jays have been extremely active at the deadline this year. After already landing left-handed reliever Brad Hand, Toronto now adds a right-handed complement for the bullpen in Soria. Expect the latter to help set up Hand with the Jays.

The Diamondbacks are clear sellers right now as they embark on a lengthy rebuilding process. So, they moved out one of their most effective players this season in exchange for a pair of players to be named later. This is a good move for Soria.

Soria should get a few more holds chances in Toronto, but the saves may not be there if Hand gets most of them down the stretch.
