Both Reks and McKinney can play first base and the corner outfield positions. Therefore, they could compete for the same roster spot with Texas in spring training next season.
What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers did some housecleaning with this move by sending two similar players to the Rangers for cash. Neither Reks nor McKinney had much of a shot at regular playing time in 2022 anyway.
