RANGERS, TWINS SWAP THREE
The Texas Rangers acquired catcher Mitch Garver from the Minnesota Twins for infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa and pitcher Ronny Henriquez.
What does it give the Texas Rangers
In Garver, the Rangers get a solid catcher who has pretty good pop in his bat. He will probably serve as the primary catcher in Texas, who also have Jose Trevino and Jonah Heim in the fold.
What does it give the Minnesota Twins
In Kiner-Falefa, the Twins get a quality defensive shortstop with just enough offensive ability to play every day in MLB. Henriquez is a promising pitching prospect. This represents a good trade for Minnesota.
Fantasy impact
Both Garver and Kiner-Falefa could be in better fantasy situations with their respective new squads, though neither is a top-tier option. They could be drafted in very deep formats, or remain on the waiver wire/free agency until necessary during the season. Keep an eye on Henriquez, who is now on the keeper-league radar.
