METS MAKE A MOVE FOR BASSITT

The New York Mets acquired pitcher Chris Bassitt from the Oakland Athletics for pitchers J.T. Ginn and Adam Oller.

What does it give the New York Mets
In Bassitt, the Mets get a solid, stabilizing starting pitcher for the back end of their rotation. With Taijuan Walker potentially starting the season on the Injured List, Bassitt is likely to be New York's No. 3 or 4 starter come opening day. He is a good addition to New York.

What does it give the Oakland Athletics
Ginn is a good pitching prospect and should be the key to this trade from an Oakland perspective. Oller is more of a reliever but he also has experience as a starter in the minor leagues. He is already 27 years old, which diminishes his prospect status.

Fantasy impact
Bassitt should continue to be a decent fantasy pitcher, despite leaving pitcher-friendly Oakland. Ginn can be drafted in very deep keeper formats this year, while Oller is more of a fantasy dart throw at this point (because of his age, the A's may want to get a look at him immediately).
