HAROLD RAMIREZ TO THE RAYS
The Tampa Bay Rays acquired outfielder Harold Ramirez from the Chicago Cubs for infielder Esteban Quiroz.
What does it give the Tampa Bay Rays
A right-handed batter, Ramirez could carve out a role against left-handed pitching for Tampa Bay this season. He is the kind of player Rays manager Kevin Cash usually gets the most out of.
What does it give the Chicago Cubs
The Cubs no longer needed Ramirez after signing Seiya Suzuki to play right field. So they sent him to Tampa Bay for infielder Quiroz, a 30-year-old journeyman who will provide organizational depth.
Fantasy impact
Keep an eye on Ramirez, although he is likely to play only against left-handed pitching (which will probably negate most of his fantasy value). Quiroz has no fantasy value at this time.
