The San Francisco Giants acquired infielder/outfielder Luke Williams from the Philadelphia Phillies for infielder Will Toffey and cash.
What does it give the San Francisco Giants
Williams can play both in the infield and outfield, but he could be needed mostly at the hot corner due to veteran Evan Longoria's recent finger surgery.
What does it give the Philadelphia Phillies
Toffey is 26 years of age, so he is not much of a prospect at this point. Then again, neither is Williams so at least Philadelphia was able to get cash back.
Fantasy impact
There is no need to draft Williams because he is likely to play in a platoon role if he makes the Giants. There is also no need to pick up Toffey, who is not much of a fantasy prospect.
