In Hernandez, the Diamondbacks acquire a raw, talented infielder who should get more opportunities in the Desert. For now, he is going to spend more time in the minor leagues. However, he should see action in Arizona fairly soon.
What does it give the Texas Rangers
The Rangers are exchanging one raw, talented prospect for another. Espinal is younger and further away from MLB, but with a similar skill set and potential as Hernandez. Texas surprisingly decided to give up on Hernandez right at the start of 2022.
Fantasy impact
Keep an eye on both Hernandez and Espinal for keeper-league purposes. However, there is no immediate need to draft either player.
