KAZMIR TO THE HALOS

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim acquired pitcher Scott Kazmir from the Tampa Bay Rays for pitcher Alexander Torres, infielder Matthew Sweeney and a player to be named later.

What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
The Angels will probably use Kazmir as a starter down the stretch, since they have had injury issues all season. Eventually, he may be moved to the bullpen. Either way, Kazmir is still young (25), so he has a chance to get back to his previous all-star level.

What does it give the Tampa Bay Rays
The Rays may be showing signs of waving the white flag this season, but they at least received a pair of promising 21-year-old prospects in exchange for the inconsistent Kazmir. They also landed a third player, which will be named later.
