BRANDON MARSH MOVED TO PHILADELPHIA
The Philadelphia Phillies acquired outfielder Brandon Marsh from the Los Angeles Angels for catcher Logan O'Hoppe.
What does it give the Philadelphia Phillies
In Marsh, the Phillies acquired a competent center-fielder who plugs a major hole in the team for both the short and long term. Philadelphia has gotten little production from the likes of Odubel Herrera, Mickey Moniak and Matt Vierling this season. Marsh should help Philly's playoff push immensely.
What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
It is a little surprising that the Angels moved Marsh at this time but O'Hoppe is a quality catching prospect who fills a big team need. Obviously, the Angels believe Mike Trout will return to perfect health at some point, so Marsh was deemed expendable. This deal is potential good news for outfielder Jo Adell.
Fantasy impact
Both Marsh and O'Hoppe should benefit greatly from this trade. O'Hoppe has a chance to reach MLB at some point in 2023, while Marsh should immedately become Philadelphia's starting center-fielder. Pick both players up if they are still available in many keeper leagues.
