PHILLIES DEAL FOR DAVID ROBERTSON
The Philadelphia Phillies acquired pitcher David Robertson from the Chicago Cubs for pitcher Ben Brown.
What does it give the Philadelphia Phillies
With Philadelphia, expect Robertson to continue to serve a closer's role this season. The veteran right-hander will probably receive plenty more save chances with his new team. This is a very solid pickup for the Phillies for their playoff push.
What does it give the Chicago Cubs
Brown seems like a nice get for the Cubs in this transaction. He has plenty of strikeout ability and a projectable frame. Plus, he is still young enough to fully realize his potential as a starting pitcher in MLB. Chicago did well here.
Fantasy impact
Robertson should see more save chances in Philadelphia, so he is a good trade target down the stretch in most leagues. Brown has more value now with the Cubs because he likely has a chance to move more quickly through their system. He is a recommendable keeper pickup at this time.
