SYNDERGAARD SENT TO PHILADELPHIA

The Philadelphia Phillies acquired pitcher Noah Syndergaard from the Los Angeles Angels for outfielders Mickey Moniak and Jadiel Sanchez.

What does it give the Philadelphia Phillies
The Phillies did well to land a new center-fielder (Brandon Marsh) previously, and now an upgrade for their starting rotation (Syndergaard). Both deals occurred with the Angels, which is a bit odd. Philly did not give up too much to get Syndergaard, who has not been as dominant this season as in previous years.

What does it give the Los Angeles Angels
The Angels are a bit of a mess, but it is still surprising that Syndergaard was moved for two outfield prospects. Moniak was once considered a top prospect, but he has struggled in MLB. He should get another good opportunity with LA at some point this year. Sanchez is a long-range prospect.

Fantasy impact
Syndergaard is moving to a much better situation, but so is Moniak. The change of scenery should help the two principles in this deal. Sanchez has some keeper appeal now that he is with the Angels.
