NOLAN JONES FOR JUAN BRITO
The Colorado Rockies acquired infielder/outfielder Nolan Jones from the Cleveland Guardians for infielder Juan Brito.
What does it give the Colorado Rockies
Jones is a natural third baseman who moved all over the field with Cleveland in order to get playing time. While his versatility is an added bonus, Colorado might decide to use him at the hot corner full time in 2023. This trade should benefit Jones greatly.
What does it give the Cleveland Guardians
Brito is a solid infield prospect who is a lot further away from MLB than Jones is. Cleveland had no room for Jones, so they did the next-best thing by shipping him to the Rockies for a good prospect. Brito's big-league future is likely at the keystone position.
Fantasy impact
Both Jones and Brito have keeper appeal but only the former should be drafted in yearly leagues in 2023. Keep an eye on Jones during spring training to find out where his future position will be with Colorado.
