What does it give the San Francisco Giants
In Sabol, the Giants get an incredibly versatile player who can line up in the outfield and also catch. As a Rule 5 draftee, he will need to remain on San Francisco's 26-man roster for all of the 2023 campaign.
What does it give the Cincinnati Reds
After selecting Sabol in the Rule 5 Draft from the Pirates organization, the Reds immediately sent him to the Giants for both a player to be named later as well as cash considerations. Cincinnati did well with this maneuver.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact here, as Sabol will likely serve a bench role in San Francisco in 2023. If he does not pan out, he will likely return to the Reds organization.
