Jackson is a former starting pitcher who has mostly been hurling out of the bullpen since 2022. It is unclear whether the Pirates want to turn him back into a potential starter. Either way, he adds solid organizational pitching depth.
What does it give the Los Angeles Dodgers
The Dodgers recently designated Jackson for assignment, so they decided to sell him for cash at this time. He was serviceable for LA prior to this season but struggled badly (6.62 ERA) in seven appearances in 2023.
Fantasy impact
There is no fantasy impact for the time being, as Jackson needs to reset as a member of the Pirates. Keep an eye on him, though.
