The Atlanta Braves acquired pitcher Taylor Hearn from the Texas Rangers for cash.
What does it give the Atlanta Braves
The Braves add another bullpen piece here in Hearn. He had an awful 10.29 ERA with Texas this season, but was much better in Triple-A ball (3.66 ERA). Hearn has options remaining so he will likely become bullpen depth for Atlanta.
What does it give the Texas Rangers
Texas recently designated Hearn for assignment, so getting cash in return for his services is better than nothing. He really struggled this season with the Rangers, so a change of scenery was needed for all parties concerned.
