URIAS IS NOW A RED SOX
The Boston Red Sox acquired infielder Luis Urias from the Milwaukee Brewers for pitcher Bradley Blalock.
What does it give the Boston Red Sox
Urias had been demoted to Triple-A ball this year. He should get a chance to fill a utility role (at least) on the Red Sox. Known more for his glove than his bat, Urias will try to unlock more offense with Boston.
What does it give the Milwaukee Brewers
Blalock had posted stellar numbers in 11 starts at the Single-A level this season (6-1, 2.19 ERA, 58 K). The Brewers hope that success continues as he climbs through the minor leagues. He is a decent acquisition.
Fantasy impact
Urias offers very little fantasy value. He is a player that relies on his defense. Blalock could be a fantasy option in the long term–depending on his development.
